Portland Beavers – Baseball

The name was resurrected in 2001 for a brand new Triple-A baseball team. Members of the Pacific Coast League, the Portland Beavers are an affiliate of the San Diego Padres. The Beavers play in historic PGE Park (formerly Civic Stadium).

Portland Winter Hawks - HockeyPortland Winter Hawks – Hockey

The Winter Hawks are one of the most successful teams in the Western Hockey League, having earned six division titles. The team also won the Memorial Cup in 1983. The Winter Hawks' success is evidenced by the number of players who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including four-time All-Star Cam Neely. The Winter Hawks' season runs October through March. Games are played in the Memorial Coliseum.

Portland Timbers – Soccer

The Portland Timbers are an expansion franchise of the United Soccer Leagues’ A-League. The return of the Portland Timbers in 2001 marked the first time in nearly 10 years that men’s professional soccer was played at PGE Park (formerly Civic Stadium). The Timbers’ 28-game regular season kicks off in early May and runs through late August, culminating with an exciting A-League championship game in mid October.
