Fred Meyer Junior Parade - Rose Festival Association The largest children’s parade in the nation, the Fred Meyer Junior Parade involves more than 10,000 youngsters who are cheered on by crowds of spectators as they wind their way through the streets of Portland’s Hollywood District. Many children (pets, too!) are decked out in colorful costumes as they ride on floats, bikes, trikes, unicycles, wagons, scooters and strollers. Regence Grand Floral Walk - Rose Festival Association The newest event on the Rose Festival calendar, the Regence Grand Floral Walk has a four-mile walk route following the route of the 2008 Grand Floral Parade, leaving from the Memorial Coliseum. The Battle Ground High School Marching Band will lead you past nearly half a million spectators who will cheer you on as you enjoy your own 'fitness parade.' Darin Qualls and Cary Lewis - The Old Church An exciting concert by two world class musicians. Beethoven Underground - Portland Chamber Orchestra The Portland Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Yaacov Bergman, will present an innovative multi-media version of Beethoven’s early masterpiece “The Creatures of Prometheus” which premiered as a ballet in 1801. The concert entitled “BEETHOVEN UNDERGROUND” features an original narration by Seattle author/storyteller David Robinson and projected oil paintings by New York visual artist Liz Gill Neilson which illustrate the narrative.
